Catherine DePino has written over 20 books for traditional publishers dealing with spirituality, Mindfulness, bullying, grammar/writing, and women’s issues. Her bully prevention book, Blue Cheese Breath and Stinky Feet: How to Deal with Bullies (APA) is widely used in bully prevention programs and is published in different languages. Additionally, her articles have appeared in national magazines, such as The Writer and The Christian Science Monitor.

The author’s educational background includes a bachelor’s in English education, a master’s in English and Spanish education, and a doctorate in curriculum theory and development and educational administration, all from Temple University. She worked for 31 years as a teacher and department head of English, world languages, social studies, and English as a Second Language in a large urban school district. After this, Temple University employed her as an assistant professor of education and a student teaching supervisor.

The author has a strong platform for the series, Help Yourself : Magical Meditations to Soothe the Mind, Body, and Spirit. In addition to her careers as an educator and writer, she engages in many spiritual practices. She has meditated using both the Transcendental (TM) approach, Mindfulness, and the Kirtan Kryia. Additionally, she studied the Tarot and psychometry for many years. Catherine is also a Reiki Master who offers hands-on healing for physical and emotional problems. The author also completed an in-depth course in Mindfulness meditation offered by Jefferson University. Mindfulness principles provide a philosophical base for the author’s book in that she believes that “living in the now” will help readers realize a more fulfilling live in every way.

For many years, Catherine served on the board of directors of The Philadelphia Writers’ Conference, where she worked on the speaker’s bureau and community outreach committees.
