Angleland -- Book 1

Suppose you were offered a million dollars to spend ten years on a deserted, but beautiful, tropical island paradise? Plenty of fresh water and natural growing food and great fishing. Would you?

Here are a few more details, before you decide. This is a secret, off-book, experiment. It involves forty healthy subjects – twenty men, twenty women, between the ages of twenty-eight and thirty-two. Once the forty subjects are on the island, they will have no way of getting off and no way of communicating with the outside world. The subjects arrive with only the clothes on their backs. Not even shoes.

There’s more … The people running the experiment, own the island and its sovereignty. This means that the island is an independent nation, answering to no other country or authority. There are no rules or laws, except those made by the owners. They don’t make any. The island government is, thus, “Anything goes.”

There you have it: Deserted island. No rules, no laws. No government. Anything goes. Forty people. Clothes on your back. Ten years. No way off. Completely isolated. Completely on your own. Whatever happens … you deal with it. One million dollars.

Are you in?

Then let’s see how it goes …

Best of luck.

About the Author:

Terry Ray has lived a life tailor-made to become a novelist. He was born and raised in a scant and worn four-room house, across the street from the steel mill where his dad worked for forty years. The city was rough and crowded with a gang in each neighborhood where every boy had to learn to fight to survive.

Terry was one of the lucky ones to escape his environment via an athletic scholarship to college.

College graduation was followed by a litany of jobs and experiences which included: USAF Pilot during Vietnam War, elementary school teacher, a Masters of Education, Juris Doctor, big city trial lawyer, university law professor, radio talk show host, a regular on a morning television program, a candidate for U.S. Congress, school board member, stage actor, singer, and director, bit-part actor in the motion picture industry, certified field investigator for the Mutual UFO Network, member of a performing tap dance troupe, father of nine children and eleven grandchildren, award-winning watercolor artist, author of nine published novels and two non-fiction books, and having met four U.S. presidents.

Just getting started.
